Before gaining fame for his spectacular appearances in The Spectacular Now and Whiplash, for which he even got awards, he had a few supporting roles in Footloose and Project X. 

From a small town in Florida to becoming Hollywood's most recognized guy, Teller has come a long way. He first made his debut in the film Rabbit Hole (2010). This movie was a big break for him and opened doors for big opportunities. 

Surprisingly, many of you guys are unaware of the near-fatal accident that he faced when he was 20 years old. This was a setback for his career as he had superb acting skills but he was rejected on the basis of his scares.

1. Footloose (2011)

This 1984 remake, directed by Craig Brewer, is about a high school boy who shifts to a small conservative town, where he finds it hard to fit in. He is shocked to see that the town has banned dancing and music. Little does he know that it is because of an accident that happened in the town. 

Teller plays a supporting role as Williard who learns to dance in a montage in the end same as showcased in the original version. 

2. The Spectacular Now (2013)

This coming-of-age film, directed by James Ponsoldt, is based on a 2008 novel by Tim Tharp. A typical story of two high school students, who struggles to live a teenage life. The story takes a turn when Teller forms a deep connection with a shy girl. 

The ending is a bit blurred but Sutter and Aimee are seen at the end smiling facing each other. 

3. Whiplash ( 2014)

Directed by Damien Chazelle, Whiplash is considered to be the movie that helped Miles Teller reach heights in his Hollywood career. He portrays the role of Andrew Neiman, an ambitious young drummer, who is pushed to move beyond his boundaries by his teacher Terence Fletcher. 

The film won various awards for its commendable work such as Grand Jury Prize. The movie earned approximately $49 million, earning a huge profit.  

4. War Dogs (2016)

This American black comedy directed by Todd Philips is a movie based on two young men, David Packouz (Miles Teller)  and Efrain Diveroli, who exploit a government initiative to become an international arms dealer and win $300 million dollar from the contract. 

The movie is considered to be Philip’s best work since Hangover. 

5. Top Gun: Maverick (2022) 

This 2002 American action drama stars the famous Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, and Val Kilmer. The movie is a sequel to Top Gun (1986) and revolves around Maverick, the flight instructor who trains Navy fighter pilots. 

Teller here roleplays Bradley Bradshaw, aka Rooster. In an interview, he claimed that he was nervous as he had big shoes to fill, considering he was starring alongside Tom Cruise. 

Fun Fact There were around 800 aerial footage that were shot while making the film.
